Entertainment Products Top the Charts This Holiday Season

(FeatureSource) Forget the fruitcake and tube socks! According to the National Retail Federation's (NRF) 2003 Holiday Consumer Intentions and Actions Survey, CDs, books, movies and video games were the top gifts purchased during last Thanksgiving weekend.

Don't be caught on the bad-gift giver list this holiday. Here are some of hottest entertainment products for 2004 sure to make up for last year's follies.

 Music

From the hip teen to stuck-in-the-70s dad, music makes a great gift.  Sam Goody stores anticipate new releases from Ludacris, Lil' John, Eminem and Nelly will top young adults' lists, while albums from Rod Stewart, Shania Twain and George Strait are sure to be welcomed gifts for the young at heart. Classic holiday titles by Mannheim Steamroller, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Tony Bennett and Bing Crosby also will help ring in the season.

Be sure to browse the gently used music section of Sam Goody for extra savings, or bring in your used CDs for some extra holiday cash.

 Movies

What better way to spend the holidays with the family than enjoying some of the best movies of 2004? According to Suncoast Motion Picture Company, new releases including Shrek 2, Elf, Spider-Man 2, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Chronicles of Riddick and The Terminal will be hot for the holidays. Boxed sets of TV shows, such as CSI and Seinfeld, continue to be sought-after gifts. Classic favorites including It's a Wonderful Life and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer are sure to get family and friends into the holiday spirit.
