Are you a fan of The Matrix Movie series?
November 24th, 2003 Today marks the official public unveiling of The Zion Archives.
explore the environments from the trilogy in the interconnected Quicktime VRs.
Via clickable hot spots, search for embedded movie files and hundreds of additional photos.
You may also want to check out the Rob Dougan videos. With the worldwide success of the Matrix there are different sites,
with some different content for each country so have fun " Digging Deeper" .
The UK site is better than the US site. Here at IVM it is all about the video! Try this custom player version.
The Skin was designed by New York-based web "un-designer" Jason Kottke
While Quicktime skins may not replace all the "Flashturbation" which passes off as web design
on so many web sites. Jason's work is clearly more creative and technically challenging than
most stuff floating around these days. The Quicktime skin is much smaller than a standard
digital video file, yet it contains much more content. Viewers are able to use it to play five
different videos that showcase Rob Dougan tracks. They can link to Dougan's web site and
also link to buy the music. To appreciate the level of expertise required. Here is how this is done.
While Kottke did not shoot or edit the videos, it is deserving of a Internet Video Magazine
Video of the Week Award based solely upon design presentation.
Thank you for taking my call! Our favorite phone prankster is at it again - This time it's Rush
Limbaugh.
Update! Here's a call to the Rush Limbaugh radio show on November 17, 2003 (his first
day back after treament for addiction to prescription painkillers): Thank you for taking
my dope. This was the most listened-to day of the "Most Listened-to Talk Show" in history,
but alas . . . only a quick plug made it on the air. Rush cut the call once it delved into his
problem with drugs, especially since it addressed the fact that the drugs he was taking are
known to cause the exactly the type of hearing loss he suffered from. He has vehemently denied
that this was the cause of his hearing problem, which (like his recent drug addiction) elicited
tremendous sympathy from his hordes of fans.
